Diets have probably always existed, in great professional style, especially since the ’60s of the last century. Until today a lot of money is earned with it worldwide. Money is pulled out of the pockets of gullible but desperate people. A durable and scientifically clear proof of their long-lasting effectiveness remained, however, usually guilty of the parliamentary allowance. Fasting is also very popular and a part of the year in many major religions.
